"What is Melodic Apocalypse about?"
This is just a personal site. I've been making and abandoning sites since I was thirteen or fourteen, most of which were managed through my self-taught HTML and CSS coding. God, that was a nightmare, too. It wasn't until I took Webmastering in my junior year of high school that I learned to code the right way.

I started this site when I came across Blackwing.Rose's site, dedicated to the characters of her Transformers fanfiction series "Duex Claret". My site was meant to be like hers, housing information on my stories and the characters in them. Then it just sort of blew up into a massive personal site.

"Why do you call it Melodic Apocalypse?"
Before I bought my own domain, the original name of the site was "Breaching Heaven", but it just didn't fit the URL name, nor did its previous layout. "Melodic Apocalypse" is a play off the title of a novel I've been trying to piece together for nearly two years, called "Apocalypse Melody".

"What's with the 404 Error page?"
That's my custom error page. If you've reached that, then it's as it says: you either typed in an invalid link, clicked on a broken link, or clicked on a link that doesn't have any content yet. If you're offended by the profanity then don't be. The two characters depicted on the 404 Error page are from "Eyeshield 21", a manga/anime series. Hiruma is a very vulgar and frightening character, so dropping the F-bomb and other curses are very in character for him. Mamori is the one of the very few who are not intimidated by his violent, outrageous ways.

"Are you hosting people?"
I am.

"Really? Are you hosting for free? If so, can you host me?"
Yes, really. And yes, I'm hosting for free, but there are only three slots available and I'm a semi-elite host. If a slot has been filled, you'll find it listed in the Affiliates section under "Hostees".

"What do you mean by "semi-elite"?"
It means that I will not host just anyone and that I have some requirements.

"Shit . . . Requirements..?"
Lol, relax. I said I was semi-elite, not an elite, so my requirements are pretty general and simple:

-- Basic knowledge with FTP.
-- Basic knowledge with HTML/CSS.
-- Be able to write HTML/CSS from scratch (i.e. Windows Notepad. While I use Dreamweaver, I still code from scratch with it, so I'm not dependent on anything but my own knowledge. I don't do Page Builder shit.)
-- Your site cannot be a blog. (You can have a blog section, but the site itself can't be a blog.)
-- Have some original content (i.e. writing, website layouts, artwork, etc.).
-- Don't clash colors or use gigantic fonts, or use excessive emphasis in your content (bold, italics, underline, strikeouts, etc.).
-- Keep your layout neat and easy to navigate.
-- Make sure all links are active (broken links suck, okay?).
-- Decent grammar, syntax, and spelling are mandatory.
-- A link back to Melodic-Apocalypse.com.
-- Be active.
-- I'm allowed to deny or stop hosting you if I see or feel you're not able to meet these requirements.

"How come it can't be a blog?"
'Cause I hate blogs, journals, diaries, etc. Even my own livejournal is more for whoring out my written work than it is about my day-to-day life. So, yeah . . . If I don't give a crap about my life, I'm sure as hell not going to care about yours.

"Well, what are you offering if I can meet those requirements?"
-- 5GB of space
-- FTP
-- CGI
-- PHP
-- Custom subdomains
-- MySQL database
-- Gentle critiquing.
-- Assistance with HTML/CSS problems.
-- A promise to never close my domain. :]
